Project Overview
Context:
Albertson’s is a leading US grocery retailer, and one of their notable projects is the "Sincerely Health" app.
This mobile application streamlines healthcare services, offering features like prescription management, virtual doctor consultations, and wellness resources.
Goals:
The goals of the client through this new app was to increase retail revenue, manage pharmacy, and create a customer centered experience.
My Role:
Product Designer - UI/UX Design. I led the UI/UX design for Sincerely Health, contributing to its user-friendly experience and positive impact on users' lives. I defined product direction for 151 Sincerely Health app features, leading complete end-to-end product design process and prototyping 176 final mobile application wireframes.
Results
Outcomes:
Prototyped mobile application wireframes, garnering a 4.8/5.0 stars review on the App Store and 100% deliverables sign-off
Albertson’s member experience with the pharmacy is completely handled with the app I designed
Increased in app retail purchases through various sections of the app such as Health Eating, Health Rewards, and Nutrition
Design Process
Research and Discovery:
The main research methods I used for designing this app was competitive analysis and surveys.
Key findings that influenced my design decisions was user feedback and reviews on other health and pharmacy apps as well as design components that did positively on competitive apps.
Personas and User Stories:
I created three main user personas and developed their background, goals and motivations, and pain points.
Based on the personas, I came up with three core design considerations for each persona. These nine design considerations served as a north star for our designs to adhere to.
The product team then created 933 detailed user stories across 9 Epics for various sections of the app.
Information Architecture:
I worked with the design team to create a high level site map and information architecture for the app based on the content required in the app. I organized the app into six main sections for an optimized user flow.
Effort Estimations:
Based on the design effort, the team calculated design effort estimations per feature.
Wireframing:
I created wireframes that represent the skeletal structure of the interface keeping the user’s needs at the center of my design approach.
User Testing:
We conducted daily of user testing sessions per feature on the mid-fidelity wireframes which lead to multiple iterations of various features.
Prototyping:
After multiple rounds of feedback and iterations, I created high fidelity prototypes to give a sense of the interactive experience.
Visual Design:
I then worked with a group of visual designers to choose a color scheme, typography, and to add branding elements that align with the project’s goals and voice.
Development Handoff:
I collaborated with developers to translate the apps’s design assets and guidelines to ensure correct understanding as they are developing the app.

The app stands as a testament to Albertson's commitment to empowering individuals on their journey towards better health and well-being. User’s have shown positive feedback represented by the 4.8/5.0 star rating on the iOS App Store.
Reflections and Learnings: Designing for Albertsons' Sincerely Health app has been an enriching experience that deepened my understanding of user-centric health solutions. Through rigorous research and iterative design, I learned the importance of empathizing with diverse user personas. Crafting an intuitive information architecture and conducting usability tests underscored the significance of seamless navigation. The integration of interactive features highlighted the potential for gamification in promoting user engagement. Additionally, ensuring accessibility compliance reinforced the importance of inclusivity in digital design. This project exemplifies the impact of a holistic approach to wellness and serves as a testament to Albertsons' dedication to empowering individuals on their path to better health.
Next Steps:
Moving forward, I envision future design team to refine the user experience by conducting A/B testing on key features to optimize engagement. Collaborating closely with the development team, they should plan to implement micro-interactions for a more dynamic and intuitive interface. Additionally, I would explore further opportunities for personalization within the app, allowing users to tailor their wellness journey. Continuous user feedback loops and data-driven insights will be instrumental in shaping the app's evolution. Moreover, I hope the future designers stay attuned to emerging trends in digital health and wellness, ensuring that the Albertsons Sincerely Health app remains at the forefront of user-centric solutions.
